“Alchemy of Light”

Alchemy of Light:

I first met Marina on my 30th Birthday and Pre Launch of the GOtoGAL, and was taken by her the minute I laid eyes on her. I thought to myself, she looked so angelic, like she can see things that I can’t yet and I couldn’t have been more right. When I asked her what she did, she told me that she does transformational healing, assisting the body back to harmony and peace through the guide of your angels. At that time, my angels probably were having a tough time keeping up with me as I was all over the place getting GOtoGAL ready for TV debut and I had just met someone, whom I thought to be at the time the man of my dreams, which was taking me on a whirlwind of emotions. When that eventually ended in absolute heartache and my insides felt so betrayed by my false perception of the experience, I remembered Marina Hubbard from Alchemy of Light and knew it was time to see her.

When I walked into her office, I was so heart broken and lost and she looked at me with her transparent eyes and asked if I’d like some tea. I remember trying to hard to keep it together but I didn’t last long before I broke into tears. I started telling her everything that had happened. She asked me to close my eyes and take some big deep breaths and then all of a sudden she began to guide me with the healing words of my angels. I immediately felt soothed and taken care of, and the more she was saying the more it felt like everything was working out just as it should. She had a way of knowing what had taken place and what I needed to do. Explaining to me that his was only the journey to the next phase of my life and it was all in preparation for what was to come.

Since my healing visit with her a few months ago everything has changed in my life. My sadness has totally subsided and is filled with unimaginable joy.  I have met the man of my desires who now lives in my reality and is more then I could ever have dreamed up. I share something so profoundly beautiful with him and it was only possible because of what I had to endure, which inevitably makes it that much sweeter. Thanks to Marina for showing me the light and guiding me towards my destiny. Sometimes you need an angel friend like that.

“The Mac Shack”

December 5, 2011 by admin · Comments Off

I was driving down West Boulevard in Vancouver and noticed a new restaurant called The Mac Shack. So I came home and googled it and when I saw the menu I was licking my lips and nodding my head. I was sold on this cool concept of taking one of our favorite comfort foods of Mac & Cheese and turning it into delectable creations. I couldn’t wait to take Brian there for our next lunch meeting as I knew he would really get a kick out of it, and he did. He literally made a bunt when he saw the menu and did a wee little fist pump to boot. He went with the Ultimate Mac and Cheese layered with chorizo, shrimp, and bacon. I went with something a little more 4 cheese traditional. I loved how they served it in your own personal skillet and if we hadn’t been there for noon we would have enjoyed an ice cold beer as well.

Last week I was invited to their media launch party and tried over six different kinds of Mac and Cheese and was in heaven. It’s just a chill place to come and have a cheezy dish and share a pint with some friends. A little different, a little fun and alot of yummmm.

Next Thursday December 15 we’ll be there to watch Episode 7 of the GOtoGAL. Join us for some great food and a laugh. Hope to see you at 8pm!

“Purdy’s Chocolates”

November 16, 2011 by admin · Comments Off

Purdy’s Chocolates was there to celebrate my Grandma’s 100th Birthday party and they were so amazing with the delivery, assortment and the display.  All the guests enjoyed their own favorite creation while reveling in the moment of being able to celebrate such a dear lady’s 100th around so many family and friends.  We are lucky to have my kind, witty and willful Nanna with us.  She brings so much joy and astonishment to my life when I think back on all the years she’s lived and all the things she has seen.

I have such fond childhood memories being at my Nanna’s house off of 33rd in Vancouver. I remember always seeing a box of Purdy’s Chocolates hidden under the coffee table. I knew they weren’t intentionally put there for me, but I had the desire to open the box and act like I was in a television advertisement. My imagination would  take me away to a television set where I played the main star in the scene. I would pick out a chocolate and hold it up and say, “Oh, doesn’t this one look delicious”. Then I would take a bite in slow motion and make the “Ooo lala” face. I would put the half-eaten chocolate back in the box and proceed to take only one bite out of all the pieces in the box until I then held the box up to the imaginary lens and said something like, “Purdy’s. You can’t finnish just one”.

Nanna wasn’t a fan, but the house was known to have meddling mice.

Happy Birthday Nanna, 100 years and the truth comes out!

Love your Mischievous Grand Daughter.

“Oh My Gift”

November 15, 2011 by admin · Comments Off

Christmas is coming and a great place to find some amazing gift ideas is at the one and only “Oh My Gift”, located at 2235 West 4th Ave. The store is literally filled with something for everyone and if you come on a day when Lynne, the owner, is working she takes the time and attention needed to make sure you find exactly what you’re looking for.  She does have her regulars, including one gentlemen who surprised me by picking out his new man candles. Note to who I am dating: It smelled divine and it was called “Ocean Breeze” and was in a blown glass form of a sea shell.  And you’re still manly if you buy man sticks! Visit Oh My Gift ‘s website to find what’s in store for you.
